Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

You see them everywhere now. They are called Digital Billboards. Even in our small town – they are all over the place.
And I really wanted one of these for our light show! I wanted to be able to display pictures, videos, and other effects with a lot more clarity this year. I talked about this subject in my last blog and the significance it’s going to play in our show.
However, this time I want to focus on how it came to exist in our display. You see, I couldn’t convince myself to pay for an industrial, professionally made screen. So, I decided to do what any sort-of cheap, big dreaming light show amateur would do – I built my own. 🤓

I must tell you, there was a ton more to this than I thought. Designing, buying, assembling, networking, programming, and sequencing these screens have taken up a lot of my time this year. I have built two: (1) A smaller double-sided P5 matrix for a “Tune To” sign by the road, and (2) a larger P10 matrix to be the center of the show.

There are so many instructions online to help guide you through how to build these things, just in case any of you have a strong desire to throw one together to enhance your front yard curb appeal. But, of course I decided to use my own design. I get it. . .dangerous. . .because who knows if this thing will last 3 months out in Mother Nature fighting the weather. Let's all keep our fingers crossed🤞
Well. . .here’s to hoping that my unique, carefully designed and assembled “digital billboard” will make it through the Holiday Season. If you drive up, and it’s not working – you will at least know the reason why. 🙄 Just looking at that mess explains it all. 🤦♂️
Closing Thoughts
David writes in Psalms 139:14, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
David uses two interesting words here in this verse: (1) Fearfully and (2) Wonderfully. Using Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, I looked up these two Hebrew words, and found the results interesting. “Fearfully” in this context means “reverently” or “in deep respect”; and “Wonderfully” means “uniquely.” David said this is how God made him, and its exactly how God made each of us. He took special care in making us; and He gave us all our own design. He does that because He love us; and because of that, He knows everything about us. And the cool part – when we don’t make it through the elements perfectly – He knows exactly what to do to fix us and make us shine again.
I am proud of my carefully assembled, uniquely designed display – but no matter how hard I try – it won’t be perfect. But this I know, each of us are “fearfully and wonderfully” made by God – and even though He didn’t make us to be perfect, we were all perfectly made.
Thanks for taking a moment to read this blog and supporting us as we continue Fostering the Holidays.
