Clark may not have wanted to Know what was in this tree. 🙂

There is a line out there that says, “knowledge is power”. We have heard it for years and basically understand how it applies. This phrase is attributed to Francis Bacon who lived in the 1500s. I don’t know much about Mr. Bacon – but I agree with his thoughts. Knowledge helps you make good, wise decisions. And I’m hoping that knowing a simple bit of information will help you enjoy our light show even more.

This past weekend I made a slight modification to our Christmas show, and I want to quickly explain why. There are so many people who love swinging by for a short time to see the lights, and they do it on multiple occasions throughout the season. I had an idea that if I would make the show an hour long and have it restart the top of every hour – then everyone could know what they would be seeing depending on the time of the night you decide to visit.

So let me try to explain myself better. Below is the modified Christmas play list and the approximate times you can expect the songs to come on inside each hour throughout the night.

So, if you and your family love the “Fun Song Set” the best (if all works according to plan – and everyone knows that doesn’t always happen – but if it does) you can stop by any night at approximately 5:13p, 6:13p, 7:13p, etc. (you get the point) and catch those specific songs.

I realize there are only 9 days left, but I hope having this knowledge (even for just a few days) helps you enjoy our show even more as we try our best to Foster the Holidays for everyone.

Closing Thoughts

Jesus says in John 8:32 (NKJV) – “And you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I want to try to unpack this verse very quickly by starting from the end.

Jesus says we have the power to be set free – but free from what? He explains in verses 34 that we can be set free from being slaves to sin. Hallelujah!

But what sets us free? Jesus makes that clear – The Truth.

Okay, then what is truth? You need to read verse 31 to understand that. He says, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples. . .”

For many of us there is no surprise here. If I abide in the Christ’s words, I will know the truth, and that truth can set me free from being a slave to sin.

For me, this verse takes the phrase “Knowledge is Power” and takes it to an all-new level. This is the type of knowledge that I really desire everyone to obtain (not when a song may come on in our light show). What makes this knowledge and resulting power exceptional, though, is that we can all obtain it. But He starts this whole thought out in verse 31 with a big word, “If”. If you abide in my word. . .you will know the truth. . .”

You must decide whether you will abide in God’s word. You must decide whether you will unlock the power that is packed in Knowing the Truth. Yes, Knowledge is Power if you chose to take hold of it.

Thanks for taking a moment to read this blog and supporting us as we continue Fostering the Holidays.
