It’s been a while since I have been able to post any information regarding Fostering the Holidays. Been a touch busy; but I know I’m not the only one with that problem. 😜 It’s why I am so thankful that you are taking your precious time to read this blog.

Several things have happened since the last post.

Halloween. 👏 What an awesome night. We had so many kids able to come by – get candy and enjoy the lights.

Disney. 👏 Fostering the Holidays uses Disney songs during the month of November to bridge the gap from Halloween to Christmas. I can’t think of a better way to be “Thankful” than to sing all the classic songs we know and love with our favorite characters.

Just in case you missed it. The list is below:

  • I Can Only Imagine (Introduction)

  • Happily Ever After (Disney Fireworks)

  • Lion King – Circle of Life

  • Aladdin – Friend Like Me

  • Disney Princesses – Compilation of Songs

  • Frozen II – Into the Unknown

  • Moana – How Far Will I Go

  • Avengers

  • Star Wars Compilation

  • Cars – Life is a Highway

  • Wreck-It Ralph – Zero

  • Toy Story – You Have a Friend in Me

  • The Greatest Showman – The Greatest Show

The show is approximately 45 minutes long and loops starting at Dark till 10pm during the week and midnight on weekends. We have just one more week of Disney (Lord willing, the Christmas show will start December 1). So, come, sit in the driveway, bring your lawn chairs to sit in the yard, stay 1 minute or stay hours – my only hope is that while you are here – it will allow you an opportunity to pause a moment and enjoy time with your family and friends. We LOVE hearing the kids (and adults 😉) sing the songs. So, sing out when you can. 😊

Closing Thoughts

Last week – Davis, Lawson and I picked up McDonalds after Basketball Practice and decided to park in the driveway, watch the show, eat, and sing. As you can imagine, we have seen this show a few times. 🤪But it was still so much fun to sing along together while finding moments stuff down fries. 🙂

That moment and the joy of that moment made me think about a time of singing that I can’t wait to be a part of one day – the singing that will be done in heaven with our Spiritual Family.

John paints an image for us in Revelation 5:9-13:

9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll

and to open its seals,

because you were slain,

and with your blood you purchased for God

persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,

and they will reign[a] on the earth.”

11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,

to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength

and honor and glory and praise!”

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!”

One of the many great things about the singing we will be doing in heaven – is that it will last for eternity – and not just a few songs. Oh, how I can’t wait to get there.

Thanks for taking a moment to read this blog and supporting us as we continue Fostering the Holidays.
